INFO:
We’re back practicing prepositions in full sentences at the playground — aka a mini world! Today we play 3 games that push my son’s fluency in German forward, and we get to connect as we rise to the challenge. (Plus, we died laughing when we realized we were filming a teen couple making out on the playground in the background. Good times.) Game #1 Mom tries to sneak to one piece of equipment we’ve practiced, and teen guesses where mom is by saying, “You are on…” 🧠 This is helping him to think of all his phrases in German and try to think of the location and use the phrase. This requires a high level of fluency, which TalkBox.Mom makes look so easy. Game #2 Teen has 10 seconds to get to something mom points at, and says, “I am on…” in German. 🧠 This is helping him to think under pressure. He had a mix-up of declining an article with one preposition, and as he resaid it, this reinforced the preposition and article better than if he had *not* gotten mixed up. Making mistakes and fixing them helps you grow! It’s not a bad thing. Game #3 Teen describes in the third person where mom is. This was tricky because he wanted to keep saying, “You are…,” in German. 🧠 This is helping him to narrate and is also helping him think and recall under pressure as he has fun. As we keep playing, his recall will keep improving. He’s getting a strong ear for grammar and learning vocabulary faster in full phrases. This will help him with Challenge 2, which has more variations and is faster-paced. #learngerman #homeschool #niolysocialmediacamp
